All of the buttons on the Outlook2CRM toolbar invoke existing screens inside of SalesLogix. This way, all of your existing customizations and business rules implemented on various SalesLogix screen (such as the Insert New Ticket screen) are still enforced by the actions from Outlook2CRM. No customizations are required on these existing screens for Outlook2CRM to function. It can prefill all information on these screens without modification. Keep in mind, with an Outlook2CRM developer license, all of these buttons are customizable.

The Outlook2CRM toolbar includes the following out of the box buttons:
- Tickets
The Ticket button on the Outlook2CRM provides functionality to create a new ticket or select an existing ticket to update. A contact record is first matched with the selected e-mail in Outlook. If a contact with an e-mail address matching the sender of the selected e-mail is not found, the user is prompted to either select a contact from SalesLogix or to create a new one. Once the contact is matched the user is prompted to select one of the following actions. 1) Create a new ticket. For this option the built-in "Insert New Ticket" screen is invoked in SalesLogix and the details, such as the subject, body, and even attachments from the e-mail is populated on that screen automatically. The user can then modify or add information and save the ticket. 2) Update an existing ticket. This action allows the user to select an existing ticket. Once selected, Outlook2CRM moves SalesLogix to the selected ticket and the Ticket Activity dialog is invoked with the details of the e-mail already filled in. The user can also select to automatically attach any files or inline images in the e-mail to the ticket as well.
- Contacts
The Contact button on the Outlook2CRM toolbar allows the user to match the selected e-mail with a SalesLogix contact that has an e-mail address that matches the sender of the e-mail. If a match is found the user is taken to the matched contact record and is prompted to optionally attach any files or inline images on the e-mail to the contact record. If no match is found, the user is prompted for one of the following actions: 1) Select an existing contact to match the sender of the e-mail with. The contact can then be updated with the correct e-mail address so future matches can be made. 2) Create a new contact for an existing account or 3) Create a new contact and a new account. For options 2 & 3, the built-in SalesLogix screen to create a new contact and account is invoked and the name and e-mail address from the selected e-mail is populated on the dialog. The user can then fill in any additional known information and save the contact. The user is then prompted to optionally save any attached files or inline images to the newly created contact record.
- Opportunities
The Opportunity button on the Outlook2CRM toolbar allows the user to create an opportunity from the select e-mail in Outlook. The e-mail is first matched with a SalesLogix contact that has an e-mail address matching the sender of the selected e-mail. If no match is found the user is prompted to either select an existing contact or create a new one from the e-mail. Once a contact is matched, the built in SalesLogix Insert New Opportunity screen is invoked and the information from the e-mail is prefilled on the screen.
- Leads
The Lead button on the Outlook2CRM toolbar allows the user to create a lead from the selected e-mail. This functionality is only available for systems running SalesLogix version 7 and higher. The built-in SalesLogix Insert Lead screen is invoked and the details from the e-mail are automatically filled in. Any files or inline images attached to the e-mail are also optionally attached to the lead.
- Activities
The Activity button on the Outlook2CRM toolbar allows the user to create a SalesLogix activity from the selected e-mail. The e-mail is first matched with a SalesLogix contact that has an e-mail address matching the sender of the selected e-mail. If no match is found the user is prompted to either select an existing contact or create a new one from the e-mail. Once a contact is matched the user is prompted to select the activity type (To-Do, Phone Call, Meeting, etc) they would like to create. The built-in SalesLogix Activity dialog is then invoked and the information from the e-mail (subject, body) are filled in for the new activity.
- History
The History button on the Outlook2CRM toolbar allows the user to create a SalesLogix history item (completed activity) from the selected e-mail. The e-mail is first matched with a SalesLogix contact that has an e-mail address matching the sender of the selected e-mail. If no match is found the user is prompted to either select an existing contact or create a new one from the e-mail. Once a contact is matched the built-in SalesLogix History dialog is then invoked and the information from the e-mail (subject, body) are filled in for the new history.
