 Managing Outlook2CRM Licenses

Adding the License

The system administrator must install the license for Outlook2CRM in order for it to be used by any SalesLogix users. Note: The License Manager can only be logged into by the SalesLogix Admin user - the License Manager is part of the standard Outlook2CRM install and will be found on all workstations. You must install user licenses and assign to named users in order for them to be able to use Outlook2CRM. An Outlook2CRM Developer License is also available to allow customization capabilies for Outlook2CRM.

You can install the licenses by using the following steps:

  1. Open the License Manager. It can be launched in several places:
    1. Windows Programs Group: Start -> Programs -> Customer FX Corporation -> License Manager
    2. In SalesLogix: Tools -> Outlook2CRM -> Manage Outlook2CRM Licenses
    3. From the About screen in Outlook2CRM: Manage Licenses button
  2. Log in using the credentials of the SalesLogix Admin user.
  3. Ensure the "Licenses" area is selected and click the "Add License" button on the toolbar.
  4. Paste in your license code and click OK.
  5. Select the "User Assignments" area.
  6. Click the "Add Assignment" button and perform the following:
    1. Select Outlook2CRM in the applications drop down (if you don't see it listed there then it does not detect your license. Return to step #4 and ensure your license has been properly added).
    2. Select the user to assign a license to.
    3. Repeat for each user, or use the "Quick Multiple Assignment" dialog (launched from the drop-down button on the side of the Add Assignment button) to make multiple assignments to the same application at once.
  7. If you have an Outlook2CRM Developer license you will repeat the steps to add the license (See steps 3 & 4). The Developer license must be assigned to the Admin user. The License Manager will make this assignment automatically for you.
  8. If the system does not have any licenses added to it, or the current user logged into SalesLogix does not have a license assigned, they will be notified on the Outlook2CRM toolbar in Outlook that the user does not have an license assigned.
